JULIE BECKER
Untitled Clown
A solo performance playing with the concept of performance/performativity, audience relationship and expectations, cringe, and diving into multiple genres (or maybe no genre). Untitled Clown is an anti-comedy that morphs into the surreal existential fever dream of a children's entertainer named Sprankles.
Untitled Clown was developed at comedy open mics in NYC, LA, and Boston, and at PAM Residencies in LA. Its first iteration was shown at PAM Residencies, pre-pandemic, and then on a rooftop in Manhattan for a small audience in 2020. It was then revisited and reworked in 2023, and performed at Matthew Silver's The Otherside of Comedy in NYC, and at the 2023 Coney Island Ritual Cabaret.
